How to ensure the plastic material will not turn yellow or break?
The plastic lamp was super white and bright at first, but then it slowly started to turn yellow and felt a little brittle, which made it look unsightly!
You may also have this situation at home. The plastic lampshade under the light easily turns yellow and becomes brittle.
The problem of plastic lampshades turning yellow and brittle may be caused by long-term exposure to high temperatures and sunlight, or exposure to ultraviolet rays, which causes the plastic to age.
The UV test simulates the exposure of ultraviolet rays to plastic to test whether the plastic parts of the product will age, crack, deform, or turn yellow.
How to conduct UV testing?
First, we need to place the product in the test instrument and then turn on our UV lighting.
Secondly, amplifying the lighting strength by approximately 50 times its initial intensity. One week of being tested inside the instrument is equivalent to one year of exposure to UV rays outdoors. But our trial lasted three weeks, which is roughly equivalent to three years of daily exposure to direct sunlight.
Finally, conduct a product inspection to confirm whether there are any changes in the elasticity and appearance of plastic parts. We will randomly select 20% of each batch of orders for testing to ensure product quality.
